We stopped selling and made more profit than ever
Written by Sérgio Ferrás

A year ago, we were drowning.
Every sale depended on us. Every job, every call, every payment – all manual!
So we did the unthinkable: we stopped chasing every lead. And somehow… profit went up.
Here’s the backstory 👇
A year ago we were stuck managing every painting job manually.
We picked up the phone for every sale.
We ran all the marketing ourselves.
We tracked payments manually.
We managed every single painter, all on our payroll.
We visited every client’s home to ensure quality.
It was exhausting!
Fast forward one year, we now have
- A repeatable sales process independent from the founders
- Automatic painter assignment
- Reviews ensuring consistent, high-quality work
What changed?
We stopped running the business, and created systems for it to run without us
Here’s the truth – Most founders are so busy keeping the business alive, they never stop to design how it should run without them.
For us, that meant:
- Documenting every task
- Delegating ownership
- Building automation
Here are the exact steps we took:
- A website where customers submit their requests
- A clear sales process so anyone can sell
- An online payment system for frictionless checkout
- A platform where painters see job details in real time
After you figure out how to sell, make it a repeatable process.
Make sure that’s so easy, that anyone with minimal training can do it
Then start building systems so that most operations run on autopilot
Otherwise you’ll just scale chaos.
What’s one thing you stopped doing that made your business grow faster?

You are your company bottleneck
