You are your company bottleneck

You are your company bottleneck

The more my company grows, the more I feel like I’m not in control

At first, we were building a website with no product-market fit.

I launched a couple of Google Ads, built a website and we tried to figure out what would convince clients to work with us

It was hard, unpredictable.

But there was no demand until we got the first client to say yes

Now, we have clients paying every day, employees using the tool every day, and the feedback keeps piling up

At the same time, with a repeatable sales process in place, we need a bigger number of leads to scale

I noticed myself thinking “the product demands more from ME”

But that’s such a self-centered way to think about it

I’m no God. I’m no “creator of it all”.

I worked hard and had some luck in figuring out how to build this product and market it.

But that does not mean I’m the only person to code it.

And it does not mean that I’m the only person that can market it.

In fact, I know there are a lot of people that would code it or market it better than me!

And yet, my mind finds it hard to let go, because it always wants to feel like it’s in control.

The minute I realized this, I switched my thinking

I went from “the product demands more from ME”

To “the product demands more from THE SYSTEM”

I could try to put out every fire, manage every single campaign and explore all the new channels, while gathering feedback and implementing the code necessary to keep the product moving forward

But that’s a road to quick burnout

Instead, I’m choosing to hire and delegate, finding talented people that want to be part of a profitable startup in growth

What things are you doing that keep your business from growing?
